A spectacular encounter between music and dance and the extraordinary architecture of world famous Therme Vals spa (architect Peter Zumthor). The piece was created from a dialogue between the opposites which meet in this very beautiful location: stone and water, night and day, interior and exterior, sound and body. With halls built of rock from the valley of Vals and pools filled with the valley’s thermal water, and so designed that the water glitters in the morning light flooding through the windows, spiegelungen was performed inside the spa at the very moment when night moves into day.
'A dreamlike dance through the dawn… the dancers appear out of darkness… the sounds of the cello break against the piano, drops of sound fall through the mists of the soundscape, and your only wish is that the piece won't ever end.' Bündner Tagblatt
